The Manchester United manager has a reputation for adopting defensive tactics in big games and his last three matches against the Merseysiders have ended in low-scoring draws.
Dejan Lovren, the Liverpool centre-back, has taken a swipe at United's tactics ahead of this weekend's big showdown, suggesting they will play for a point.
But Red Devils great Bruce insists that will not be the case, saying: "They can't park the bus.
"The supporters will demand that they go and have a go at them, that is for sure.
"You are going to have to defend well because Liverpool's undoubted strength is the front three and the pace of the front three.
"They are fantastic to see at the moment Liverpool but they [United] will have a game plan that they can't be caught on the counter-attack so be careful of it.
"United v Liverpool at Old Trafford, there is no bigger occasion, so I hope it is a proper spectacle."
